Doca Universe Inc. (“Doca Universe,” “Doca,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) reserves the right to revoke this license, refuse admission, or remove any person from the event premises for violation of event rules, unsafe or disruptive behavior, illegal activity, or failure to comply with safety or security requirements.

By purchasing, possessing, or using a ticket, or by entering San Jose Holiday Lights, you acknowledge and agree to this Ticket Policy.

  • Tickets are valid only for the selected event date and applicable entry time.
  • Tickets are valid for one-time admission only.
  • Tickets may not be duplicated, altered, reproduced, or used for unauthorized purposes.
  • A valid ticket must be presented for admission.
  • Tickets obtained from unauthorized sellers may be invalid, duplicated, or fraudulent.

No re-admission is permitted.

Once a ticket holder exits the event premises, the ticket cannot be used for additional entry.

Admission and Entry

Guests may arrive at any time during their selected entry time slot.

Guests are encouraged to arrive during the selected entry time to help manage attendance and guest flow. Admission remains subject to event capacity, operating hours, safety requirements, and other applicable restrictions.

Entry on a date other than the date shown on the ticket may not be permitted.

Doca Universe reserves the right to deny admission or remove any guest whose conduct may affect the safety, security, operation, or experience of the event or other guests.

Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult where required by event rules or applicable law.

Event Changes

San Jose Holiday Lights is a live outdoor event experience.

Event details, including installations, attractions, activities, performances, schedules, operating hours, vendors, and other offerings, may be changed, delayed, relocated, suspended, or removed due to:

  • Weather conditions.
  • Safety or security requirements.
  • Maintenance or technical issues.
  • Operational considerations.
  • Government requirements.
  • Vendor or performer availability.
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

The unavailability, modification, or closure of an individual installation, attraction, activity, vendor, or other event feature does not entitle the ticket holder to a refund unless otherwise determined by Doca Universe or required by law.

Doca Universe will make reasonable efforts to provide updated information when significant event-wide changes occur.

Refunds and Cancellations

All ticket sales are final unless otherwise stated in this Ticket Policy, during the ticket purchase process, or in a written notice issued by Doca Universe.

If a refund is approved by Doca Universe, the refund amount will exclude any non-refundable ticketing platform fees, service fees, and payment processing fees charged during the original purchase.

These fees are collected by third-party ticketing and payment service providers and may not be returned to Doca Universe when a refund is processed.

Guests who purchase optional Purchase Protection during checkout may be eligible for reimbursement under the terms and conditions of the third-party protection provider.

Purchase Protection is separate from Doca Universe’s refund policy and is subject to the provider’s own terms, conditions, exclusions, claim procedures, and eligibility requirements. Doca Universe does not determine or guarantee the approval of Purchase Protection claims.

Refunds are not available after the ticket date, including for no-shows or unused tickets.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on the ticketing platform, financial institution, and payment provider.

Weather

The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine.

Weather conditions alone do not automatically qualify a ticket holder for a refund.

If the event is canceled or materially interrupted because of severe weather, unsafe conditions, government requirements, or other circumstances affecting public safety, Doca Universe will provide instructions regarding any applicable refund, credit, or rescheduling option.

Unless otherwise stated, the closure or temporary suspension of an individual attraction, ride, installation, performance, vendor, or activity does not constitute cancellation of the event.

Guest Conduct and Safety

Guests must follow all event rules, posted notices, instructions from event staff, and applicable safety and security requirements.

Doca Universe reserves the right to refuse admission or remove guests without refund for conduct including:

  • Illegal activity.
  • Threatening, abusive, disruptive, or unsafe behavior.
  • Harassment of guests, staff, vendors, performers, or contractors.
  • Damage to event property, displays, installations, equipment, landscaping, or the venue.
  • Entering restricted, closed, staff-only, or operational areas.
  • Failure to comply with staff instructions or security procedures.
  • Conduct that interferes with event operations.
  • Conduct that negatively affects the safety or experience of other guests.

Security measures may include bag checks, visual inspections, and other reasonable screening procedures.

Refusal to comply with required security procedures may result in denied admission or removal from the event.

The following items are not permitted unless specifically authorized by Doca Universe:

  • Weapons or dangerous items.
  • Fireworks, explosives, or flammable materials.
  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances.
  • Items that may create a safety, security, or operational hazard.

Children and Supervision

Parents, legal guardians, and accompanying adults are responsible for supervising children and minors in their care at all times.

Children must not climb, sit on, cross barriers around, or touch installations, electrical equipment, temporary structures, landscaping, or other areas not intended for guest interaction.

The purchase or use of a ticket for a minor confirms that the accompanying adult accepts responsibility for determining whether the event and any optional activity are appropriate for that minor.

San Jose Holiday Lights may include optional ride attractions and activities, including the Holiday Train, carousel, games, interactive experiences, and other family-oriented activities.

Some rides or activities may require a separate ticket, reservation, or additional payment.

Guests should not participate when participation may be unsafe because of a medical condition, physical limitation, pregnancy, recent injury, or other personal circumstance.

By choosing to participate, guests voluntarily accept the ordinary and inherent risks associated with the applicable ride or activity.

Doca Universe and the applicable ride or activity operator reserve the right to restrict or refuse participation or to delay, suspend, or close an attraction when reasonably necessary for safety, maintenance, weather, capacity, or operational reasons.

The closure or unavailability of a ride or activity does not automatically qualify a guest for a refund of general event admission.

Vendor Transactions

San Jose Holiday Lights may include independent third-party vendors, merchants, food and beverage providers, exhibitors, performers, and other participating businesses.

Any purchase, order, transaction, representation, warranty, refund, complaint, or dispute involving a third-party vendor is solely between the guest and that vendor.

Doca Universe does not manufacture or directly provide third-party products or services and is not responsible for:

  • The quality, safety, availability, or suitability of a vendor’s products or services.
  • Vendor pricing, payment processing, refunds, or warranties.
  • Food ingredients, preparation, labeling, or allergen information provided by a vendor.
  • Statements, representations, or conduct of independent vendors.

Guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions are responsible for confirming ingredients and preparation practices directly with the applicable vendor before purchasing or consuming any item.

Personal Property

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings while attending the event.

Doca Universe is not responsible for personal property that is lost, stolen, misplaced, left unattended, or damaged, except to the extent otherwise required by applicable law.

Any lost-and-found service is provided as a courtesy and does not guarantee that an item will be recovered, stored, or returned.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you grant Doca Universe Inc. and its employees, contractors, partners, sponsors, licensees, and authorized representatives permission to photograph, film, record, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, display, and otherwise use your image, likeness, voice, and appearance captured at the event.

This provision does not authorize any unlawful, defamatory, or materially misleading use of a person’s image, likeness, voice, or appearance.
